Solar powered driveway alarms use a solar panel to charge a built in battery in the sensor during the day. At night the battery provides power to the driveway alarm system. With solar powered driveway alarms you don't need to worry about frequent battery changes or running power to the sensor location. With the improvements in solar technology these systems don't need to be in direct sunlight to operate and a few hours a day will recharge the batteries allowing the system to continue operating.
